ECO Bamboo

A bamboo plant can grow up to 36
inches in a single day and can reach
maturity in less than four years.
As it grows bamboo processes more
CO2 and releases 35% more oxygen
into the air than an quivalent stand
of tress!

Bamboo is grown without pesticides or chemicals and protects the air we breathe (it releases 35% more oxygen than trees). Combined with Spandex and cotton, Eco///Bamboo feels soft against the skin, providing unsurpassed flex and fit. Bamboo contains a natural agent-"bamboo kun"-that prevents bacterial growth and has inherent temperature regulation properties, keeping you cool in the heat and warm in cool environments.

Ecoapparel′s "Eco///Bamboo" fabric is certified to meet the Zurich Oeko-Tex Standard 100.

We use bamboo because it is a soft, smooth and naturally grown fibre that requires zero chemical pesticides to flourish. Synthetic fibres like polyester and acrylic are petroleum-based. Bamboo, on the other hand, is a natural fibre that we don′t have to extract from the earth. Ultimately, making clothing from this natural fibre supports pesticide-free farming and the sustainable natural fibres industry as a whole. Eco///Bamboo is a blend: cotton adds strength and durability and Spandex gives it the right amount of stretch and flex. Apparel made with this fabric generally fits well and will stand up to a long life of laundering and wear.

From a technical standpoint, not many fabrics – eco or synthetic – can beat bamboo in moisture transport, odour control and thermal regulation. Bamboo fibres have a great tendency to wick away moisture and regulate temperature. Unlike other fabrics that are treated with chemicals to kill odour bacteria, bamboo contains a natural agent ("bamboo-kun") that prevents bacterial growth.

Soft, stretchy, naturally wicking and anti-odour, bamboo is an eco-"Logical" choice.
